About Musical Arts Piano Conservatory in Tampa, FL

At our school, we take a unique approach to music instruction. We don't just adhere to one system or set of standards. Instead, we blend the best of all of the curriculum suggestions and guidelines from organizations such as the Royal School, the National Piano Guild, and National Music Teachers Associations into our training. This way, we ensure that our students receive the best instruction possible. We also understand that students are individuals and that different settings may not be suitable for them. Therefore, we consider their talents, preparation, and achievements when entering them into evaluations, festivals, and competitions. We want to ensure that our students are presented in the best light and that they are comfortable in their environment.

Parent as First Teacher

Children learn language and all the basic skills of life from their parents. Studies show this model is also very useful for music training. In many cultures, parents are very involved in assisting and overseeing musical progress at home as children progress through their studies.

Music for Little Mozarts

This is a wonderful series of books that encompass a proven curriculum for little children to learn the piano. Our approach will be in a 30 minute private live online lesson with parent and child taking the lesson together, both sitting on the piano bench at their home piano. We will follow the musical adventures of Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear as they learn all about the piano, the music alphabet, what notes are, and how to play a whole assortment of wonderful songs....eventually leading to music reading and playing the easiest classics.

THE RISING STARS

Our Rising Stars Program is for all levels of students: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. However, students accepted into this program must make the commitment to practice and make progress. Parents must also make the commitment to foster this effective and consistent practice at home. Successful students will find that careful choices of other extra-curricular activities besides piano will need to me be made. Students take one private online lesson per week and may attend the monthly online live Performance Workshop. The Workshop provides a live interactive setting (via Zoom online platform) in which the student can perform in front of peers and receive performance coaching.
