In the sunny, laid-back state of Florida, where palm trees swayed lazily and dolphins arced joyfully from the turquoise waters, there was a boisterous bunch of kids known as the Florida Woodpeckers. Oh, don't be mistaken, they didn't peck at trees like the birds! They were called the Woodpeckers because of their immense love for woodworking. There was Timmy Two-Toes, a boy with two left feet but magical hands that could transform a block of wood into a beautiful sailboat. Then there was Susie Saws-a-lot, a girl whose sawing skills were so fast, it was believed she had eight arms like an octopus. And let's not forget the group's mysteriously cool leader, Wood Wizard Wally. Wally had a beard of wood shavings and a hat made from the bark of the Magical Mahogany tree. He could summon wooden dragons, that he swore were friendly, out of mere wooden planks. These woodworking whizz-kids could often be found in their mighty workshop, a place filled with the rich, earthy smell of timber. Their laughter echoed through the swampy marshes as they sawed, chiseled, and sanded, creating unbelievable masterpieces from the simplest chunks of wood. Amidst the sounds of hammers clinking and saws tearing through wood, they unraveled the mystical stories concealed within each piece of timber. So, dear reader, if you're ever in Florida and you spot a wooden dolphin leaping over a wooden sun, or a wooden alligator grinning on a porch, you'll know the Florida Woodpeckers are not too far away, creating their magical, wooden world.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
Welcome to Rotary Youth Camp! At Rotary Youth Camp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and experience the joys of summer camp. We serve youth with physical, emotional, sensory, and mild mental disabilities, such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifuda, Amputees and Limb deformities, ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, Autism Spectrum, Intellectual disabilities, Blind/Visually Impaired, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, and Diabetes. We group campers by age, rather than by disability, so that everyone can learn and grow together. Our staff are highly trained and come from diverse backgrounds. We strive to ensure that our campers can take part in activities that will help them develop their skills, and we are proud to see many of our campers become staff and leaders in the camp. We do our utmost to ensure that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable time at Rotary Youth Camp.
