About The Hive St. Pete

Carol and Katie Schubert, a mother-daughter duo, are the proud owners of The Hive St. Pete. Carol is a retired dreamer who has followed her passion for pottery and opened a commercial pottery studio. Katie, a mental health therapist, has joined her mom in her venture and is now offering inspiring classes and workshops for the Tampa Bay Area. They are committed to providing a safe and creative outlet for locals, where everyone can feel welcomed and learn something new. Along with the classes, they also display artwork from members, teachers and students, and rotate shows featuring other media from local artists. The Hive St. Pete is constantly growing, and with more classes and studio space being added, the possibilities are endless.

Pottery Classes

Looking for a fun and unique experience to do with a friend, family member or a date on the weekends? Want to come try clay in a playful community atmosphere? Look no further! Come get your hands dirty and have some fun with us! Our knowledgeable instructors will help you throw a piece on the wheel and get creative with shapes and textures with a hand built piece as well! Each participant will create 2 masterpieces to remember this uniquely fun night by!

Painting Classes

Gorgeous colors, flamboyant brushstrokes, and relaxing scenes are just a few of the options at the Hive's newest Friday night offering. Local artist Kat Silver offers an engaging step-by-step paint-along. Show off your hidden talents and create a masterpiece with Kat. New paintings will be offered weekly. Drawing

There's no need to be filled with anxiety when you pick up a pencil. You really can draw what you see. Life Drawing, a four week course with Emmett Freeman, covers the fundamentals of drawing and the basic principles of art. Students learn sighting, mapping, and measuring to accurately draw what they see. The class will cover drawing basic forms, still lifes, and a live model.
