About Camp Telogia

Girl Scout Camp Telogia is a 9.5-acre paradise, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland. This camp has been a beloved part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida since 1961, when Broward County gifted the land to the organization. In 2018, plans to permanently abandon the property were suspended and in 2019 a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted. Camp Telogia will soon be ready to welcome Girl Scouts for daytime and evening activities. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is delighted to announce that Camp Telogia will soon be restored and revitalized to its former glory. This 9.5-acre camp, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland, has been a part of the Girl Scouts since 1961. After plans to abandon the property were suspended in 2018, a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted in 2019. Once the work is complete, Camp Telogia will be ready to offer daytime and evening activities for the Girl Scouts. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is thrilled to be able to continue the legacy of Camp Telogia.

Building these skills prepares girls for workforce readiness no matter where they go or what they decide to do.

Outdoors
Since 1912, girls have explored and strengthened their outdoor skills and commitment to environmental stewardship through Girl Scouting. Guided by supportive adults and peers, Girl Scouts discover the wonders of nature, experience the thrill of adventure, and challenge themselves and one another to reach new heights. These experiences hone their outdoor and leadership skills, inspire them to take action to protect the environment, and reinforce friendships to last a lifetime.

Life Skills
Girl Scout badges, beginning with Civic Engagement and expanding to Healthy Living, Communication Skills, Practical Skills, and Global Citizenship, form the foundation of activities that help girls grow as Girl Scouts. Whether it’s by exercising and staying healthy, developing strong relationships with family and peers, advocating on behalf of others, protecting our environment, or exploring careers that can truly change the world for the better, girls gain the skills and the inspiration to accept challenges, overcome obstacles, and take the lead.

STEM
STEM Girl Scouts provides countless opportunities for young girls to jump into STEM and explore their interests and passions with fun, challenging activities like building robots, designing apps and video games, and collecting data to help scientists protect the environment. Because interest in STEM begins in early childhood (between the ages of five and ten5 ), Girl Scouts’ “fun with purpose” K–12 curriculum helps bridge the gender gap by ensuring that girls of every age have opportunities to participate in progressive, multiyear STEM experiences. Indeed, girls who participate in Girl Scout STEM programs become more confident in their math and science abilities and more interested in STEM subjects and careers.
