About Merritt Island Swim School - Swim Safe Now with Ginger Blackman in Merritt Island, FL
At our swim school, we recognize that every child is different and learns in their own individual way. That’s why our lessons are grounded in the science of behavior, using sensorimotor learning techniques, reinforcement schedules, positive reinforcement, and operant conditioning. We strive to craft one-on-one lessons that are tailored specifically to each student, enabling them to maximize their own learning potential.
Our main goal is for our students to build both competence and confidence in the water. We want them to learn not only how to swim, but also how to survive in the water, and how to enjoy it safely. With our individualized approach to teaching, we are confident that your child will be able to achieve these goals.

Hold Breath as Water Rises
Your child will learn how to close their mouth and hold their breath as the water rises on their body. Do not teach your child how to blow bubbles underwater. This encourages them to open their mouths underwater and exhale all the air that helps with buoyancy.
