US SAILING was officially designated as the National Governing Body of sailing in the United States by the US Congress in 1978 under the Congressional Amateur Sports Act. Since its founding 125 years ago, US SAILING has been committed to promoting the sport of sailing through equal opportunity, competition, and education. With a focus on safety, sportsmanship, and fair play, US SAILING works to increase sailing participation and excellence nationwide from its headquarters in Bristol, Rhode Island.

BeAKid
Opti Development Team
This program is a learn to race program for novice sailors ages 8-14. The Optimist is a 7’9” long, single-handed sailing pram. The Optimist is the biggest youth racing class in the world.

Opti Racing Team
This program is designed for Opti sailors who have racing experience and ready to compete in regattas. Limited number of registrations accepted. Additional spots availabe if you own your own Opti.

Middle School Sailing
This program focuses on the skills and fundamentals of double-handed sailing in a recreational environment. Open to all students grades 6-8.

Sailing Camp
Thousands of youngsters have attended the USSCMC Summer Sailing Camp over the past twenty years. Much of the program’s success can be attributed to the skill, enthusiasm, and dedication of our instructors. Many current instructors began as junior sailors and are now passing their knowledge, experience, and passion for sailing on to the next generation. All sessions are coached by friendly, US Sailing Certified Instructors.
