About Chinsegut Conservation Center

Take a trip to Chinsegut Conservation Center Tract, located only six miles north of Brooksville. Explore the 408 acres of the 850-acre Chinsegut Wildlife and Environmental Area. Learn about the area’s history and how it is connected to one of Brooksville’s notable early residents. The Chinsegut Conservation Center Tract is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and is funded by the Pittman-Robertson Program and state legislative appropriations. It is the only educational facility operated by the Commission's Public Access Services Office. Take the opportunity to explore and learn more about the history of this unique area.

This program is designed to introduce young children to the natural world in a safe and nurturing way using games, reading and crafts. A limited number of programs may include opportunities to meet live animals.

This program may be scheduled no less than two weeks in advance for ages 8+. Equipment for this program is provided by the center and is limited so that large groups will be divided and rotate through shooting exercises.
