EARLY CHILDHOOD

The initial introduction to school is an extraordinary milestone for children and has the opportunity to instill a love of learning for a lifetime. At Grandview, our youngest learners spend their days learning through play in an age-appropriate manner. We foster a nurturing environment that emphasizes joy, compassion, and growth with an introduction to a broadrange of subject areas; Spanish, PE, music, art, science, dance, and Pride. In the same way that the 5 C's provide the foundation for our older students, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and character are all active pillars of the early childhood experience.

LOWER SCHOOL

Lower School (grades K - 5) is a joyful stage in a child's life and one that requires nurturing, play, exploration, and structure. Our young learners are encouraged to ask questions and let their curiosity take them to new places of inquiry. Grandview's Pride Language Arts (PLA) program is Orton-Gillingham inspired and provides a strong foundation in reading, writing, and comprehension. Our Math program provides the foundational skills and strategies needed for more advanced mathematical concepts. The 5 C's act as pillars for Grandview's emphasis on developing the skills needed for success in school and life beyond. Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and character are fundamental to the learning experience at Grandview.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Adolescence is an exciting and transformative stage of life which brings about natural challenges in the middle school years. At Grandview, we recognize this unique stage of development and work intentionally with students in areas of student agency, self-regulation, building confidence, and digital citizenship. Our community encourages students to explore new things and find value in successful and unsuccessful endeavors. The 5 C's provide the foundation for our curriculum design and act as pillars for our emphasis on teaching the skills needed for students to be successful in high school, college, and life beyond. Communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and character are fundamental to the learning experience at Grandview.

UPPER SCHOOL

High School is so often here today and gone tomorrow - not at Grandview. Our Upper School students are encouraged to find joy in their learning while also appreciating the challenge of a college preparatory curriculum. Our most successful and joyful students participate in a wide range of courses and extracurricular activities. Students learn how to balance their priorities and important skills surrounding advocacy and student agency. Grandview provides a unique research-based educational program designed to engage each student in the active pursuit of knowledge. Strong personal relationships within the school community provide a foundation to nurture and cultivate knowledge, character and leadership. Our program offers small class sizes, an enriched curriculum focused on durable and transferable skills in areas of communication, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and character. Students are encouraged to achieve their personal goals for success and wellness in college, and life beyond.
