Bruce Davis, director of Flip Flops and Fitness, began his gymnastics journey at the ripe age of eight. Under the instruction of Walt Lienert at Athenaeum Turners in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bruce went on to compete for Southern Connecticut State University from 1962 to 1965. There, he was coached by Olympians Abie Grossfeld, Muriel Grossfeld, Don Tonry, and Jamile Ashmore, a Pan American Games gold medalist. Following that, Bruce earned his Masters degree from Ohio University in 1966. He then went on to teach and coach at Miami Dade College for 33 years.
