For students aged 4-6 years of age During this class your child will learn about the basics in art, from blending to composition in a fun and relaxed environment. Each week we explore various different mediums and techniques, giving your child an opportunity to learn new things. The images shown below show you what the students will be working on each week. Creating art in a fun way is important to us. We can make mistakes and everything will still turn out great. It is our message to young artists that the way they see the world is important and we never do a child's work for them. We guide our students and show them new techniques and encourage self expression.

For students aged 7-9 During this class your child will create a more detailed piece of art. With more time to spend on their creation, your child start to work more independently and have a chance to show off their personality through their work. The images shown below show what the subject is each week. Each week we switch the medium around between clay, watercolor, mixed media, acrylic to tempera. We like to expose the students to all types of art so that they can find something they love. This class is 1.5 hours long and is held 4 days a week. Students are encouraged to attend weekly.

Ok! So let's talk about names. Mommy and me was the first class I ever created at The Giggling Pig back in 2011. It was so popular and I just loved meeting all the parents and toddlers. But over the years things have changed. We as a society have changed and there are more and more dads and grandparents who are a HUGE part of your little ones lives. I want to make sure the name of this class doesn't throw people off and make them think it's only for moms. I want you ALL to feel included here. Grandparents, cousins, aunties and uncles, moms, dads, babysitters and caregivers - we love you all! So come in, explore with us, and make a mess! The best thing about this class isn't just that the kids make a mess here and you don't have to clean up, but it's that they are actually developing essential skills that will help them to be ready for preschool. From fine manipulative development and gross motor skills, to creative problem solving and observation skills. don't be fooled that this is just for fun. This is as important as the time you spend together bonding.
