. At our academy, we strive to provide an exceptional Art Education curriculum, tailored to the individual needs of each student. We believe that the Western Art tradition has much to offer, and our teachers provide comprehensive instruction in the classic practice of drawing. This method encourages students to see, interpret, and apply the appropriate marks to recreate an observed phenomena. We also explore other art activities, such as imaginative interpretation, philosophy of esthetics, ontology, semantics, studio praxis, and phenomenology. Our approach puts emphasis on stimulating the creative abilities of the right hemisphere of the brain, and encourages students to create their own works of art while appreciating the work of their peers.

After-School Fine Art Program : Ages 6-15

Does your child enjoy art at school but wishes for more time to draw, color, paint, and be creative? This class is designed for students who want that extra time and show a great interest in fine art creation. We recommend this program for children age 5 year olds and up, who are passionate about playing and creating with mix media arts. All levels of students, from beginning to advanced, are accepted. Children will start with a light snack and a mini meditation session before focusing on introductory exploration of the arts such as drawing, painting, and more. Parents will be surprised by the end of each semester when students bring home their unique creations!

Homeschool Fine Art Fundamentals Program: Ages 6-17

Our homeschool classes follow our drawing and painting fundamentals program. Students begin with black and white drawing exercises in pencil and pen and ink. After basic skills are learned, children advance to color in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oil. All levels of study, from beginning to advanced are accepted. In our homeschool program, special emphasis is placed on teaching the fundamentals of drawing logically and simply. Our methods promote sound draftsmanship, which dramatically improves a student’s drawing abilities. With continued practice children can then achieve higher levels of understanding and success. Many of our initial drawing exercises are executed in pen and ink so students become familiar with the expressive qualities of line, and aid in improving a student’s control and focus. Students continue to improve their drawing skills when they move on to painting.

Fine Art Summer Camp: Ages 5-17

Unique Summer day art camps are packed with learning and exciting projects. Sessions meet once a day for five consecutive mornings. In door and outdoor weather permitting. Students receive individual instruction and work at their own pace in a non-competitive environment. Our student to teacher ratio is always low to ensure a successful learning experience. Many students find their skills progress very quickly in camps because of the steady practice a daily class can offer.
