Through music, movement, puppetry, and costumes, kids will bring their favorite storybooks to life on stage. At Blue Hills Theatre, students will receive group instruction in singing, movement, and acting, and will be given the opportunity to help create sets and costumes that will be used in the culminating performance. This student-centered approach is designed to help young people learn the fundamentals of theatre in a fun and engaging way. Finally, all that the kids have learned will be put to the test in a full-scale theatrical production. This is the perfect opportunity to watch your child shine on stage and be part of the creative process from start to finish. The Blue Hills Theatre was founded in 2007 as a working educational summer stock program for young adults. The past performances included You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Some Pig! (the story of Charlotte’s Web), Once on this Island, Disney’s Jungle Book Kids, Seussical Kid, and Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kids., Happily Ever After? (an original musical), Pirates! The Musical, and Pirates! 2. The Blue Hills Theatre is a non-profit theatre recognized by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health as a classroom-based instructional program.
