The Louis Astorino Arena is a staple in the New England hockey world and has been called home by generations of hockey players. Under new management in August of 2010, the arena is committed to embracing the traditions of Hamden Hockey while bringing the building to the forefront of hockey rinks in New England. With up-to-date facilities and modern amenities, the arena offers a variety of programs and events for the whole family. Snowplow Sam for Tots (Levels 1-4)

This program is open to toddlers from ages 3-5. Level 1 is for children who have never skated before. Level 2 and 3 are for children with some experience. Level 4 is more advanced for those children not quite ready to matriculate into the Basic Skills track. Each child will be placed in the appropriate level after his or her skills are evaluated by the Skating Director.

Basic Skills (Levels 1-6)

There are 6 levels in this program, and each skater will be placed in the appropriate level after his or her skills are evaluated by the Skating Director.

Hockey (1-4 & Power Skating)

There are 5 levels in this program, and each skater will be placed in the appropriate level after his or her skills are evaluated by the Skating Director. Requirments: Must have successfully completed Basic Snowplow Sam 3 or Basic 1.
