Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and have some fun- and what better way to do that than at Gilchrist Farm Summer Camp? Kids can unplug from technology and dive into the wonderful world of farm life. At camp, kids can learn how to ride horses, or if they already know how, improve their riding skills. They'll get to meet all the animals, from cows and horses to sheep, goats, bunnies, and more! Not to mention there's plenty of traditional crafts to do, like soap and candle making. Plus, they can play in the mud, run, adventure, and explore the farm. The best part? Everything at camp takes place outdoors. There's plenty of shade, misters, and all sorts of activities for the campers. From shearing sheep and milking goats, to petting cows and gathering eggs, kids will have a blast with all the different things they can do at the farm.

Spring Farm Camp

Horse care, grooming, riding and cart driving. Learn how to groom, tack up, and ride horses or enhance your current riding expertise by trying something new. Archery and mounted archery! Intermediate and Advanced Horsemanship available for students who already ride. Milk goats, gather eggs, pet pigs and bunnies, feed the ducks and tortoise, enjoy the horses and take the mini mule for a walk! Watch eggs hatch and learn to care for chicks! Spring time babies should be abundant during camp—-cuddle and enjoy the best of Spring! Country Arts & Crafts galore! Soap and candle making, leather working, rag doll making, and wood working. Our new wool fiber program kicks off with Spring Camp!

SUMMER CAMP

Gilchrist Farm Summer Farm Camp is the perfect way to celebrate summer! Get off technology and get outside on the farm! Learn to ride horses or advance your current riding skills. Get to know the cows, horses, pigs, sheep, goats and bunnies! Learn traditional crafts (soap and candle making), play in the mud! Run. Adventure. Explore! Our entire camp is OUTSIDE! We have SHADE, misters, and so much to do. Shear a sheep, milk a goat, pet a cow, gather eggs, run with the piglets!

Farm Family Memorial Day Camp Out and Barbecue

A chance for the whole family to enjoy a camp out (in your own tent) at the Gilchrist Farm and enjoy all of the activities of Summer Camp! Ride horses, milk goats, make candles, gather eggs, pet cows, feed pigs, sleep under the stars and wake up with the roosters! Appropriate for all ages. Adult must accompany child for the duration of the event. Farm fresh food will be prepared and served onsite! Full barbecue Sunday night, Farm Fresh Breakfast Monday Morning. Gather the breakfast eggs! Milk the goats! We will provide all of the food, drinks, plenty of water, snacks, etc. You provide your tent and sleeping bag, bring along your flashlight, sunscreen, hats, closed toe shoes, long pants for horseback riding, and toiletries. We have a well lit flush toilet onsite (accessible easily) along with portable toilets. There are plenty of hand washing facilities, but no showers.
