About Aikido Del Mar

At Aikido Del Mar, we strive to promote the practice of Yoshinkan Aikido in our community. We have a team of passionate volunteers who are committed to providing a safe environment for all people. We welcome everyone, regardless of age and ability, to come and take part in our classes. Our lessons offer a unique opportunity to practice a traditional martial art and learn about the philosophy of Yoshinkan Aikido. We strive to promote physical and mental wellbeing, while fostering an environment of respect and understanding. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our community.

CHILDREN’S CLASSES
The Children’s program is currently serving students 6-12 years old. The classes are specifically designed to engage young students in a fun and interactive way, while prioritizing student well-being and safety. The program includes a belt-rank system based on Yoshinkan Aikido International Standards which is recognized by partner dojos around the world. Our head instructor of the children’s program is Josh Sensei. He is a credentialed classroom teacher with a Masters degree in education from UC Davis. In addition, he received his International Aikido Instructor Certification while studying and teaching in Kyoto, Japan. His extensive experience and passion for cooperative learning and team building are immediately apparent when you meet him.
