About Oakland Feather River Camp

For over eighty years, Oakland Feather River Camp has been a beloved summer camp for Bay Area families. Established in 1924 and located on a beautiful federal land, the camp has stood the test of time, with generations of campers enjoying all the traditional camp activities, such as a dip in the swimming hole, singing around the campfire, and a camper talent show at the Starr Bowl. In the past, campers arrived by train, which let them off right inside the camp, and the sound of the trains passing by can still be heard to this day! Parents can rest assured their children will have a wonderful time at Feather River, making lifelong memories and friendships.

Family Camp
Start with a morning yoga/stretch class or a quiet nature walk. After breakfast try arts and crafts, group games, archery, horseback riding, tie-dye, a hike, or other special programs and activities led by OFRC Program Staff. Each morning we also offer our Tot Lot Program for potty-trained 2-5 year olds, while 6-14 year olds meet up with our energetic and caring Program Staff and have their own fun and age-appropriate programming, such as Archery, Basketball, Nature Hikes, Field Games, Kickball and more!
