Are you looking for an innovative summer camp for your child? At our progressive camp, we create a vibrant Jewish life for children ages 7-18. Our unique model encourages campers to take the lead and be their authentic selves, while building strong community connections and having the chance to make a difference. Located in Big Bear Lake, CA, our camp is also part of a year-round community with activities in Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Bay Area. At our camp, your child will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful experiences that will help them grow and thrive. We provide a participatory, youth-led model that emphasizes self-expression and community-building. Our campers also have the chance to create positive change in the world around them. Located in the beautiful Big Bear Lake, CA, our camp is just the beginning. Our year-round community continues to provide educational and social opportunities for campers in Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Bay Area. At our summer camp, your child will be able to explore their individual identity and develop meaningful relationships in a supportive and vibrant Jewish environment.

Summer Camp
Expect some creative surprises when your madrichimot (counselors) wake you up each morning-- wake up with cookies, wake up to a song, wake up to another language. Because counselors live in cabins with their campers, they help get the new day started, and are there to assist in any way needed. During PISH, you’ll participate in an activity that your counselors will plan just for your age group. PISH provides a more intimate space for learning and discussion. But this isn’t like your average day at school -- Gilboa’s youth leadership prides itself on informal and experiential learning, bringing in the spirit of summer camp through fun, immersive activities.

TZEDEK Program
TZEDEK is Gilboa’s social action and leadership development program for high schoolers – it is where Gilboa teens put their values into action!

Gilboa Seminar
A few times per year, all campers through 10th grade come together in LA for a weekend of fun, friends, and camp Shabbat traditions! The seminar is hosted at either our campsite in Big Bear or at a rental campsite in Southern California. Seminars are open to friends who have never been to Gilboa but want to come try it out.
