About O.J. Amaya Golf Academy

O.J. Amaya, a Class A PGA Professional golf instructor, is making a name for himself in the San Diego area. With over 25 years of experience, O.J. has developed a passion for teaching golf to young children ages 6-12. He has created a Junior Golf Academy that utilizes the US Kids Golf Player Pathway as a framework and utilizes Chula Vista Golf Course’s PGA Family Tees to take the kids out on the golf course. His weekly Junior Clinics are so popular that they are regularly sold out. O.J. is the only teaching professional in the South Bay to field a PGA Jr League Golf team since the program’s inception in 2012. Parents looking for a fun and structured way to introduce their kids to the game of golf should take a look at the Junior Golf Academy. This program is an integral part of O.J.’s success and has been around since 2014. The Academy recently partnered with Golf Squad, a program that is in 10 states across the country and brought a structured golf education to elementary schools in the Chula Vista area. O.J.’s expertise and dedication to teaching has created an amazing opportunity for young golfers to get out on the course and learn the game in a fun and engaging way.

Junior Golf Academy (Ages 6-12)

Junior coaching sessions are conducted using the US Kids Player Pathway and are geared towards getting juniors out on the golf course utilizing Chula Vista Golf Course’s PGA Family Tees. The Player Pathway has 10 levels including a playing proficiency test. Tuition includes instructional booklets, hat and achievement pins that are earned as skill proficiency is attained. Completion of Levels 1-5 establishes the basic fundamentals to ensure a lifetime of enjoyment and knowledge of the game. Advancing through Levels 6-10 provides the skills to successfully compete in tournament play.
